Vaillant is the leading manufacturer of domestic central heating boilers in Europe and Vaillant boilers, under the "ecoTEC" tag, encompass the full spectrum of combi, system and open vent boilers.
The Vaillant ecoTec exclusive boiler range for example includes high efficiency combi boilers with heat outputs of 27kw or 30kw. These Vaillant boilers recycle heat that would otherwise be lost through the boiler flue and are over 90% energy efficient, corresponding to an "A" rating from SEBUK ("Seasonal Efficiency of Domestic Boilers in United Kingdom"). If you live in a hard water area it is not unusual for limescale to build up on the hot water calorifier in a combi boiler; Vaillant boilers, however, are guaranteed against this problem for 5 years. Combi boilers do away with the need for a separate cold water storage tank, hot water cylinder and associated plumbing and can usually be comfortably accommodated on a kitchen wall or in an under stairs cupboard.
For sealed systems, Vaillant boilers include the ecoTEC plus system boiler range, which provides domestic central heating and hot water from a storage cylinder and offers heat outputs of between 12kW and 37kW. Vaiillant system boilers are compact in size – 28" x 17" x 12" approximately – and have one of the lowest weights in their class at around 80lbs. Alternatively open vent – or "heat only" – Vaillant boilers are available in four different guises ranging from 15kW to 38kW in output power. These Vaiilant boilers require feed and expansion tanks – usually in the loft – and a hot water storage cylinder.
