Glow worm reviews
Glow-Worm has been manufacturing domestic central heating and hot water boilers in Britain for more than 70 years and the range of Glow-Worm boilers today includes combi, open vent and sealed systems in a variety of heat outputs. All Glow-Worm boilers are highly energy efficient and SEDBUK "A" rated.
The Glow-Worm Ultracom cxi for example is a high efficiency "condensing" boiler available in 24kW, 30kW and 38kW models. The Ultracom cxi is also suitable for use with LPG ("Liquified Petroleum Gas") without the need for a conversion kit. In common with other Glow-Worm boilers the Ultracom cxi features a stainless steel heat exchanger as opposed to the cast iron heat exchanger found in conventional boilers and an integral digital programmer.
The range of Glow-Worm boilers extends to similarly efficient open vent, or "heating only" and system models. The Ultracom hxi is available in outputs ranging from 12kW to 38kW and delivers less than 40mg per KWh of NOx – the generic name for nitrogen oxide pollutants – making it one of the most environmentally friendly boilers in its class. An open vent boiler does, however, require feed and expansion cisterns so if space is a major concern a system boiler may be a more appropriate choice. A system boiler such as the Ultracom sxi from Glow-Worm incorporates the major components in the unit itself. This means that installation is quick and neat and the system, as a whole, is highly responsive and economical.
