Potterton Suprima HE

Following on from the success of the earlier Suprima ranges, the Potterton Suprima HE has taken the design of its predecessors and modernised it to meet and exceed the new energy efficiency guidelines. To do so, a secondary heat exchanger of cast aluminium has been added to the right of the heat exchanger, without adding to the size of the system itself. This has made the Potterton Suprima HE much more efficient without compromising on its reputation for being compact and convenient. There are six outputs available in the Suprima HE range, from 30,000Btu/h up to 80,000Btu/h making it ideal for a range of home sizes.

With the same sleek and minimalist design which is characteristic of the Potterton range of boilers and systems, the Potterton Suprima is a clean white, with a grey panel at the very bottom in which the controls, gas valve and status LEDs are snugly contained. The Potterton Suprima HE is small enough to fit into a standard kitchen cupboard space, and its wide range of flue shapes and variety allow it to be sited in areas where often a system could not be placed.

  • Six models are available to suit a range of homes - from starter to larger family households
  • Outputs are available from 30,000 Btu/h 80,000 Btu/h.
  • Energy efficiency of SEBUK band B
  • Compact, one size case
  • Low clearance needed for installation
  • Horizontal and vertical flue terminals are available, as well as a large range of flue accessories
  • Simple user interface
  • An optional stand-off kit is available for descending flow and return
  • An optional 7 day twin channel programmer can be added

The HE Suprima 60 has been a good boiler with no real issues. However, it has just come to my notice that the installer 5 years ago did not connect the central heating pump to the boiler as is set out in manual. I understand this connection is to support pump overrun. To connect a pair of wires at this stage would be a major upheaval. I have had no heat exchanger issues so far - is it ok to run on like this without the pump connection meaning that as soon as boiler stops then pump stops?
