Ideal Icos system HE
The Icos System HE is a range of boilers manufactured and developed by Ideal, who are one of the leading firms in the boiler market. Ideal pride themselves on their clever and innovative designs which aim to combine robust and reliable units, which are extensively checked, with high efficiency and ease of use. The Icos system HE has a particularly impressive efficiency of over 90% thus earning it an A rating under the SEDBUK (Seasonal Efficiency of Domestic Boilers in the United Kingdom) guidelines. This impressive efficiency significantly reduces the amount of gas required for the heating of water and central heating. This can lead to a considerable reduction in gas bills whilst also minimising the emissions of potentially environmentally-harmful gasses into the atmosphere.
The Ideal Icos System HE boilers are aesthetically attractive with their modern and sleek exteriors. They are flexible in terms of placement and sitting as well as with regards to parts making them very easy to install. Furthermore, their intelligent designs make them simple to operate and maintain. They have central heating thermostats that are adjustable from 30°C to 82°C and these boilers modulate their outputs to match the demands of the household.

I fitted one of these 7 years ago having worked for a national housebuilder who installed 1,000 Ideal boilers a year. No wonder we had so many customer care issues. This product is awful. Every year I have had to have work done and so far the boiler is on its third pump, its fourth PCB, third display, third ignition, third air emittance valve but what it capped it was that three weeks ago the burner melted a hole through the side of the upper part of the heat exchanger after some flimsy heat absorbent material was dislodged. I have spent too much money and too much time trying to sort a bad product from a shoddy manufacturer and have just order a replacement boiler from someone else. Read the reviews yourself, this boiler is dreadful and it undermines sites like this to even think about a 5* rating!
